New Registration Process for 2020
For the 2020 Summit, we are contacting people directly via email with a personalized link to register. Please check your inbox for additional details (and in the event that the email got filtered by your email server, your spam/junk folder). The email will be sent from Beth.Falk@falkmarquesgroup.com. Registration is now open to those that have received an email communication from us.
Please note that we expect there to be a high level of interest in the 2020 Summit and in order to craft a balanced audience, registration will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis by industry role.
If you did not receive an email, but are interested in attending the Summit, please be sure to complete our invitation request form using the button below to indicate your interest.
Important Hotel Information
The rooms within our block at The Monarch Beach Resort are currently sold out, and we do not anticipate any change in that status. However, we have secured room blocks with discounted rates at other lovely, nearby properties in Dana Point, CA – The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa, the Montage at Laguna Beach, and The Ranch at Laguna Beach Availability within these blocks changes frequently (some may already be at capacity), and rooms are being allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
After you register for the Summit, you will have an opportunity to make a hotel reservation (pending availability within the hotel room blocks). We expect the room blocks to sell out and a hotel room within our room block is not guaranteed. Therefore we also encourage you to explore other nearby properties in Dana Point for availability.
For details about the Summit venue and accommodations, including hotel cancellation policies, please see the Venue/Accommodations Page.
In order to plan your attendance and stay, please see the Agenda Page for the Summit Schedule Overview.

Projecting a Powerful Presence: Maximizing Your Impact and Influence
Great leaders bring more to the table than technical skills, intellect, and charisma. They're skilled relationship builders who have learned to connect authentically with the hearts and minds of others in order to motivate and inspire them to achieve shared goals and desired outcomes. These leaders have presence. Whether you are managing a team, cultivating authority amongst your peers, working towards leading more deals, raising a new fund, or all of the above, the skills you learn in this interactive workshop will help you to develop your own authentic presence to increase your impact and influence.
Breaking Barriers: Why Women Investing in Women Is the Answer
The number of women holding the most senior leadership positions in private equity and venture capital has barely budged in the last ten years. With record levels of assets under management, the time is ripe to break down barriers and boost the ranks of women in the industry. In this Wednesday morning workshop, we'll examine some promising developments – such as more women-owned firms being started and more women becoming allies in the capital formation process – from both the limited partner and general partner perspectives. We'll explore how women can continue to support one another either by representing their institution or by investing as a GP or individual in funds as first investor (hey – "it's what the guys do"). We'll take a close look at the elements to consider as an investor, from assessing the brand to legal considerations, and how to expand and leverage your network to identify the next great fund. Join us to discuss the successful launch of women-owned funds, how to decide if you should be the one to provide credibility with that first check, and other steps we can all take to help one another advance in the industry.
